What is RBO & Its Process
Rice Bran Oil (RBO) is unique edible oil which is produced from rice bran – a byproduct of the Rice Milling Industries. The paddy which has a strong outer cover called the Husk, during the production of Rice from paddy; first this husk is removed from the paddy by dehusking process. The rice comes out after removal of the husk is brown in color as because of the oily layer on it.
During rice milling process this oily layer from the brown rice is removed through the polishing process. The oily layer which is removed in the powder form known as rice bran and is a source of Crude rice bran oil.
The Crude rice bran oil is extracted from the rice bran through the Solvent extraction process by using food grade hexane as solvent. The crude rice bran oil then undergoes through a refining process to produce the refined rice bran oil for human consumption.
