A complete consumer guide to rice bran oils, enriched with oryzanol for heart-friendly living.
Rice Bran Oil (RBO) is unique edible oil which is produced from rice bran – a byproduct of the Rice Milling Industries. The paddy which has a strong outer cover called the Husk, during the production of Rice from paddy; first this husk is removed from the paddy by dehusking process. The rice comes out after removal of the husk is brown in color as because of the oily layer on it.
During rice milling process this oily layer from the brown rice is removed through the polishing process. The oily layer which is removed in the powder form known as rice bran and is a source of Crude rice bran oil.
The Crude rice bran oil is extracted from the rice bran through the Solvent extraction process by using food grade hexane as solvent. The crude rice bran oil then undergoes through a refining process to produce the refined rice bran oil for human consumption.
Physical Refining addresses a critical challenge in oil processing. Some types of crude oil contain non-hydratable phospholipids and high Free Fatty Acids (FFA). These cannot be effectively removed by traditional chemical refining because it generates large amounts of effluents and results in significant oil losses.
More importantly, Rice Bran Oil is rich in natural antioxidants like Oryzanol. Standard chemical refining washes these vital nutrients out, stripping the oil of its primary health benefits. Physical refining is the superior method necessary to retain these antioxidants without compromising the purity of the final product.

Some Health Benefits of Rice Bran Oil. Discover the science behind nature's healthiest cooking oil.
Ideally balanced fatty acid composition and high smoke point for versatile cooking.
Cholesterol is the substance occurred naturally in the body which is either absorbed from food or made by the liver. It plays an important role to maintain healthy cells and make hormones, vitamin D and bile acids which help to digest fat.
Aside from making cholesterol in the liver, we can also get it from the foods we eat. Eating too much saturated fat which is found in animal – based foods can cause our bodies to make or absorb too much cholesterol.
High levels of cholesterol in the body can clog blood vessels and increase the risk of heatr disease and stroke.
There are two types of cholesterol: low-density lipoprotein cholesterol is the bad cholesterol whichcan clog blood vessels; high- density lipoprotein [HDL] cholesterol is good cholesterol. It helps clear the bad LDL cholesterol out of the blood. Cholesterol levels are typically a measure of the total of LDL and HDL levels.
Rice Bran Oil in diet significantly reduces LDL cholesterol [Bad cholesterol], inhibits platelet aggregation and prevents cardiovascular diseases. Clinical studies from Japan, India and the U.S.A have confirmed the results and named why-rice-bran-oil AS “HEALTH OIL”. in every 1% reduction in cholesterol there was a 2% decrease in the risk of coronary heart disease. Thus why-rice-bran-oil in the diet significantly reduces cholesterol without any side effects and is the healthiest oils for human.

Cholesterol is a naturally occurring substance in the body which is either absorbed from food or made by the liver. It serves an important function helping to maintain healthy cells and make hormones, vitamin D and bile acids which help to digest fat.
Aside from making cholesterol in the liver, we can also get it from the foods we eat. Eating too much saturated fat which is found in animal-based foods can cause our bodies to make or absorb too much cholesterol.
Animal-based foods such as meat, eggs and dairy products contain cholesterol, whereas plant foods do not. Eating goods which contain cholesterol in moderation has less effect on cholesterol levels than eating too much saturated fat.
High levels of cholesterol in the body can clog blood vessels and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
There are two types of cholesterol: low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is the bad cholesterol which can clog blood vessels; high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol is good cholesterol. It helps clear the bad LDL cholesterol out of the blood. Cholesterol levels are typically a measure of the total of LDL and HDL levels.
Many factors can contribute to high blood cholesterol including: genetics – a predisposition to having high cholesterol; lifestyle factors including being overweight, having a poor diet and lack of exercise. Changes in hormone levels particularly in women after menopause can also result in a decrease in HDL (good cholesterol).
Too much cholesterol in the body can be deposited and eventually build up in blood vessels causing them to narrow and harden. This may eventually restrict blood flow causing a heart attack or stroke.
Lowering cholesterol levels can, therefore, reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke. You should regularly get your cholesterol levels checked. The recommended level for cholesterol for the general public below 4.0mmol/L*.
Nature Pure Cholesterol Lowering Spread has a minimum of 1.2% gamma oryzanol, and approximately 1% of other plant sterols.
Oryzanol is a naturally occurring nutrient found in the rice plant. Cholesterol can be absorbed into the body through the intestine. Research shows that Oryzanol may inhibit intestinal absorption of cholesterol from foods. The unabsorbed cholesterol and Oryzanol are then passed out of the body.
Oryzanol not only helps your body to block the absorption of cholesterol it also helps to improve the good HDL cholesterol and reduce bad LDL levels.
A standard teaspoon of Nature Pure Spread contains about 70mg of Oryzanol. We recommend using four teaspoons (20g) of Nature Pure spread per day as this will provide approximately 280mg of Gamma Oryzanol.
As part of maintaining good health, you should include a healthy eating and exercise programme.
• Choose healthy fats and oils (such as Nature Pure)
